Open events are held once or twice a month. They last for four hours and either run on a single day (10am to 3pm with an hour for lunch) or are split over two consecutive days, running from 3pm to 5pm (UK time). The next few workshop dates are shown below.

People can work on their own or in a team of two or three and there are between two and five 'live' pubs in a game (the rest of the pubs in the village run on 'autopilot'). So the numbers are very flexible! Participants entering on their own may have the option of being paired up with someone else. ​
